Macbook Air repaired after a water spill – Stone dead not taking any power or charge.
An oxidised capacitor was replaced, and a wire ran to a pin under the sensing resistor as the trace was burnt. The black dot in the first picture between the cap and resistor should be bright and shiny.
All sorted and sealed in place with conformal coating.
On the battery power circuit a bad MOSFET was replaced, these act like a gate, thus allowing power and charge to and from the battery.
The bad MOSFET was removed and replaced.
Sorted – As ever, at a fraction of Apple’s cost, who’d have replaced the entire motherboard.
