This MacBook Pro came in for not charging via USB-C. – Our customer reported that one port would sometimes charge, but nothing on the other; now, neither port charges. Thermal imaging showed it was the port itself which is shorted.
On closer inspection of the USB-C. There was corrosion on both ports.
The bad port was removed and replaced and we’re back in business.
